Accessible cruise planning

Nobody
stays home.

Not for a bad back, bad knees, or a bad day. You just need to know what the trip will actually ask of you โ€” before you book it.

We sail Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Princess, and we tell you the truth about all three.

Get the Accommodations Guide

Every accommodation the cruise lines offer, how to ask for it, and the deadlines nobody warns you about. Free.

Even a guess helps. We'll remind you before your paperwork is due.

The Elevator Test

Everybody picks a cabin by the view. That's the wrong question.

The right one is how far you'll walk to the nearest elevator โ€” four or five times a day, for seven days. On a big ship that's a real number, and nobody tells it to you. We count it before you book.

What we check
Distance to the nearest working lift, and whether it serves the decks you actually need.
What's above you
Pool deck means chairs scraping at six in the morning. The listing won't say so.
When we check it
Before final payment โ€” while your cabin can still be changed.

What you get

Same price as anywhere else. Considerably more help.

Cruise fares are set by the cruise lines โ€” nobody undercuts them, us included. So we compete on the part that actually goes wrong.

01

Your cabin, checked

We map your walk to the elevator, the dining room and the theater, and tell you what's on the decks above and below. If it's a bad cabin, we move you while there's still time.

02

Your ports, honestly

Which stops are tender and which are dock. How far from the pier. Where you can sit down, and where the bathrooms are. Written from having been there.

03

Your deadlines, handled

Accommodation forms are due weeks before you sail, and nobody reminds you. We do โ€” with a plain-English walkthrough and a second set of eyes before you send it.

Here's the whole list โ€” cabin equipment, port assistance, wheelchair service to the ship, accessible seating by venue, getting ashore, and what not to do.

Ai-Cruise Granny

About Ai-Cruise Granny โ€” and the person behind her.

Ai-Cruise Granny is AI. We're not being coy about it; it's in her name. She's the one telling you all this, and she's funny about it, which helps when the subject is your spine.

Stacy is not. She's the one who actually sails โ€” Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Princess, out of Canaveral, Lauderdale, Miami, Tampa, New Orleans and Galveston. She cruised with her stepmother when both of them needed assistance, and she filled out every form and asked every awkward question to work out how it all really goes.

Everything here comes from that. Ai-Cruise Granny just says it better than a form letter would.
