Sails Anyway is free to read, and the free guide is free. We keep the lights on in a few ways, and we want you to know every one of them.
Cruise bookings
When you book a cruise through the booking engine on our site, we earn a commission as an independent travel advisor affiliated with our host agency, Cruise.com. Cruise fares are set by the cruise lines, so you pay the same price you'd pay booking anywhere else.

The rules we follow
- We only recommend what we'd use ourselves. If our person hasn't used it, we'll say so.
- Every gear roundup includes at least one "skip this." A commission never decides whether something makes the list.
- No one pays for a good review. If we ever do a paid partnership, it will be clearly labeled as sponsored — at the start, not buried at the end.
- Accessibility claims are never for sale. Whether a port, ship or tour works for a body with limits is based on firsthand experience or a cited source, never on who pays us.
- We disclose links where you see them. On social posts and in emails, the affiliate note goes at the top, not the bottom.
